On the Easel

Back in the studio, working on a gannet and mackerel composition, adding the first layer of colour on top of the underpainting. Always great fun at this stage as most of the potential is still there. It shouldn't need a lot of fussy detail as the subject matter and composition give the painting a strong foundation, but the character of the main gannets and mackerel will be very important to capture well...
